FAQs
I found your music on YouTube. Are you also on Spotify?
Yes! I have a new Spotify Page exclusively for my Covers and Wedding Versions - please follow me and add my tracks to your playlists. Click here to visit my Spotify Page.
When did you start to play piano?
I started when I was 3 years old - but if you are thinking of starting to learn, I honestly believe it’s never too late to start! Playing piano is a wonderful way to spend your time and energy - you won’t regret it, I promise! You can read more about my musical childhood and how I started playing for Weddings here
Which piano are you playing in your videos and recordings?
I play a Yamaha P121 with the SH Silent System. I love it! This piano has changed my life - I’m able to play with headphones any time, day or night, and be hearing a sound which really inspires me - the CFX Concert Grand. I film the videos using my iPhone 6S on a tripod on top of my piano and record the sound directly onto a USB stick. Then I add a little reverb using QL Spaces and master it in Pro Tools and then sync the sound and video in iMovie. The hardest part of the process is getting a complete take without a mistake - always hoping for that elusive “one-take-wonder”
Can I request a song?
Yes! Please do! I’d love to hear from you and will do my best to honour all requests. It’s even possible to commission an arrangement. To find out more about requests and commissions, click here.
What is a Wedding Version?
When I first had the idea to combine Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” with Pachelbel’s “Canon” back in April 2017 I called it a Wedding Version. I never dreamed that that video would now have over 6 million views and that “Wedding Version” would have become a thing. A “Wedding Version” has come to mean any piano cover I arrange in a beautiful style suitable for an aisle!
Is the Sheet Music the same as what you play in your video?
Yes. I know how frustrating it is to buy Sheet Music which is inaccurate or doesn’t meet your expectations. I put a lot of time and care into composing these arrangements. The sheet music you often see on my piano in the videos is printed from the exact same file which I send to Musicnotes. I then do my absolute best when recording to play exactly what I wrote.
I can’t read Sheet Music. Can you make a Synthesia Tutorial?
Yes! I’ve recently started a separate channel for Tutorials. Read more about that here
If I leave a comment on a YouTube video, will you even read it?
Yes! I love to read your comments and I try my best to reply to all of them. Sometimes a kind word from a stranger on my YouTube really lifts my spirits and makes my day. I really can’t put into words how grateful I am for the supportive community which has grown from making these covers.
I really like what you do. Are there ways I can support you other than buying your Sheet Music or MP3s?
Thank you so much! Yes! There are many ways you can support my work - and they don’t have to be financial. Watching, liking, commenting on and sharing my YouTube videos makes a huge difference. If the YouTube algorithm sees active engagement on my videos then it is more likely to recommend them to others. Subscribe to my channel if you haven’t already. A growing subscriber count also leads to more recommendations. Tell your friends about my covers, add my tracks to your playlists, share them on Facebook or Instagram - everything helps. I really appreciate your support.
Otherwise there is this cute website called “Buy Me A Coffee” - If you would like to make a donation to encourage me to stay caffeinated and keep working you can do that here.
Do you also compose original music?
Yes! You can find out more about my solo piano albums “Echoes of a Winter Journey” and “Dear Emily” here
